"SEEK have been involved in Lock Up Your Boss for two years running and the entire team really enjoy participating in such a fun way to raise money for Kids Helpline. The staff take great pleasure in seeing me in my prisoner outfit (I try not to take it personally!) and it's gratifying to know that such a small sacrifice of time can provide such enormous benefit for children in need. SEEK is proud to be a part of Lock Up Your Boss - keep up the good work!"

“Westaff (Asia Pacific) is proud to be associated with Lock Up Your Boss. It brings fun and excitement into the office. Everyone in the company supported the cause by making a donation on the day, and it was an added bonus being able to lock up our Managing Director, Nigel Haworth, if only for a little while! Events such as this align perfectly with our core values, which include, respect, integrity, honesty, treating people humanely, and working in an environment, which encourages passion and fun. At Westaff we believe that our competitive edge comes from our people. Thank you to Kids Helpline for the opportunity to experience a very different Friday!”
Rachael Beveridge, National Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Westaff Asia Pacific

“... I can say that the effort that was put in by the bosses was a testament to what an important and worthwhile charity this is. All the ‘bosses’ along with everyone else, had a great time. The games were very challenging and full of entertainment for the staff to watch, and very messy, but worth it to watch the bosses struggle to win their cash bonus. Overall, everyone was willing to chip in to raise money to lock up our bosses for this great charity event!”

“Thanks for the opportunity to contribute to Kids Helpline in such a fun and easy fund-raiser. We had a great time installing Michael, our General Counsel, in his office. He was an excellent prisoner and a very good sport.”
Karen Peck, Legal Assistant, Promina Legal, The Promina Group.

“Our General Manager, Nugget is the boss of Divers Tavern, Broome, WA. We raised over $500 to actually lock him up – we figured no one would pay to release him !! Once the target had been reached, we paraded him around both The Tavern Bar and The Beach Bar to show patrons who had contributed to the fundraising. We then proceeded to lock him up to the sound equipment on the stage in The Beach Bar for all to see. He took the punishment very gracefully and sat there quite content. Then the fun really started …. This twist to the imprisonment was a huge success as we raised a total of almost $1,000.”
Liz Keith, Events & Marketing Assistant, Diners Tavern, Broome.

“We had an absolute ball! Our Boss thought it was hilarious. It took us about 6mins to stop her laughing so we could read her her rights. All of our staff had a great time and look forward to being involved. Thank you once again. Please find attached a copy of photos taken on the day, as well as the arrest warrant and poster.”

“At lunchtime we handcuffed our Principal, Mr Jim Bell to his desk and attached bars to his office window. Children came to visit and looked through the window to find Mr Bell locked in his office. We took the prisoner for a walk through the playground and then returned him to his cell for the remainder of lunch. It was a day enjoyed by all, thankyou for giving us the opportunity to be involved with such a great fundraising event.

“The bosses of Manchester Unity have been involved in Lock Up Your Boss for 2 years and each year, it just gets better and better. In 2004, eight bosses were locked up in our Manchester Unity Sydney branch. Dressed in prison outfits, handcuffs and fluffy pink slippers (yes we took some liberties with the outfit) it could easily be assumed that their crime was a disdain of fashion. As it turns out, the employees didn’t need an excuse to lock them up, they were only too willing to join in the fun.

Each boss was given half an hour to raise their bail money and the pressure was on. All bosses took full advantage of their contacts - pleading to friends, loved ones and business partners to collect money for their freedom. In true Manchester Unity style, simply reaching the minimum bail amount did not suffice and all bosses went the extra mile to raise money for this wonderful cause. As a group, we managed to raise nearly $7000.

Our staff eagerly await this day every year. Not only does it build team spirit and camaraderie amongst our employees but also raises money for one of our favourite charities- Kids Helpline.”
Steve Lowndes, CEO, Manchester Unity
