Lock up your Principal to raise funds for Kids Helpline.
This year we are extending “Lock Up Your Boss” to include
“Lock Up Your Principal”
"Lock Up Your Principal" is as it sounds. Students are encouraged to 'lock' up their Principal for an hour at school while the Principal raises 'bail' for Kids Helpline.
We would like to inspire schools to embrace Lock Up Your Principal as an opportunity to support the services of Kids Helpline which is targeted directly towards ensuring the long term wellbeing and happiness of kids within both primary and secondary schools.

Here’s how a school locked up their principal last year. |
“At lunchtime we handcuffed our Principal, Mr Jim Bell to his desk and attached bars to his office window. Children came to visit and looked through the window to find Mr Bell locked in his office. We took the prisoner for a walk through the playground and then returned him to his cell for the remainder of lunch. It was a day enjoyed by all, thankyou for giving us the opportunity to be involved with such a great fundraising event." Kids Helpline is Australia's only 24-hour, national telephone and online counseling service for young Australians aged 5-18 years. It is free, anonymous and confidential. Kids Helpline is staffed by paid, professionally trained and supervised counsellors and currently responds to thousands of cries for help in any one week.
An average day for a counsellor includes handling calls from children who are bullied at school, are feeling depressed or suicidal, are being abused, have a drug problem, are homeless or are having problems dealing with their family or friends.
